Springtime at Transfiguration Preserve is Filled with New Life!
By Dr. Mattie Decker
I am brimming with news to share…so many ways to come and experience this pristine, conserved land and river and waterfalls! In April a group from Montreat Conference Center will be with Tanner Pickett guiding Fly fishing as meditation and a contemplative practice. This is a new offering we plan to continue. Tanner came to our Sacred Saunter in January and found this the perfect “sacred place” to introduce this practice.
I will be guiding Nature and Forest Therapy – “forest bathing” or “Shin Rin Yoku” in Japanese, on EARTH DAY, April 22nd, and our April SACRED SAUNTER on April 23rd
Then, on April 29th our friend Jim Stilwell will be back for another ART and NATURE experience- (he brings all the art supplies and materials, you just come!)
Lastly, on Sunday, April 30th, my friend and Ayurvedic Practitioner Kiersten Angelos will begin a monthly offering here of Nature and Yoga! Kiersten moved here from Albuquerque, New Mexico when the School of Ayurvedic Medicine moved to Asheville. She is also trained with ANFT (Association of Nature and Forest Therapy) and has been on all my walks with me since then! I’m delighted to have this addition along with these other practices in this place.
