At this time, we are fundraising for the following special projects:

Saluda Grade Trail

Conserving Carolina and our partners are working toward a vision for a 31-mile rail trail that runs from Upstate South Carolina into the mountains of North Carolina. It would run along the route of the historic Saluda Grade rail line. Conserving Carolina is raising funds for the North Carolina section of the trail—which could be a game changer for local economies, outdoor recreation, and health.

Bell Park

We have the land for a new 70-acre park in southern Henderson County featuring beautiful waterfalls and rock outcrops. Now, we just need to raise the funds to build trails and create a parking area, so we can open Bell Park. This park will honor the legacy of summer camp pioneers Frank and Calla Bell by creating a new place for people to enjoy the outdoors.

Bracken Mountain Preserve

Thanks to strong community support, we were able to buy 34 acres of beautiful forest land to expand Bracken Mountain Preserve in Brevard. Now we are raising funds to build 3-4 miles of hiking and biking trails that will make the preserve more welcoming to people of all ages, abilities, and skill levels. The new trails will be a doorway to all of Pisgah National Forest… and a lifelong love of nature.
