Speaker: Gray Jernigan, MountainTrue’s Southern Regional Director & Green Riverkeeper
This program will cover water quality data and analysis, threats to water quality, work being done to address issues, and future concerns in the Green River watershed covering most of Polk County and southern and eastern Henderson County.
Gray Jernigan is the Green Riverkeeper with MountainTrue. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Vermont Law School. He served as Staff Attorney with Waterkeeper Alliance in Raleigh before joining MountainTrue as Southern Regional Director in 2016. Gray‘s background in environmental policy, law, and advocacy give him an excellent understanding of the scientific underpinnings and the regulatory framework governing environmental protection, as well as the intersection between society and nature.
