Exploring Creativity in Nature

January 27 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Creativity lives within all of us. Nature has a special way of nurturing the creative spirit, helping it blossom and grow. Learn to better connect with nature and yourself by spending the afternoon with your guide, John Thomas Whitfield, BFA Studio Fine Arts, Appalachian State, at the pristine Transfiguration Preserve in Hickory Nut Gorge.

We will embark on a journey through the woods and into ourselves. This experience is for creatives of all varieties, and especially for those seeking to awaken the creative spirit within. Whether you are – or aspire to be – an artist, maker, poet, musician, actor or dancer, all mediums and genres are welcome. No prior experience needed. Basic supplies provided, but feel free to bring anything that will support you on your journey that you can easily carry on the trail.

This experience is limited to 12 participants.

*Participants should be able to walk one mile on uneven terrain with a moderate grade. Modifications are available with advance notice. Please reach out to [email protected] with questions or concerns.

Donations are not required and the amount of your gift is entirely up to you. A donation of $30 is suggested for forest bathing walks, for those who are able. Donations of $35 or more will include Conserving Carolina membership benefits.

*Transfiguration Preserve is private property and guests are only allowed on the property by invitation (a planned event or scheduled group).  Thank you.
