Deer Lake Workday

September 28, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join us as we learn the importance of controlling Non-Native Invasive Species (NIS) in a wetland and landscaped environment. Learn how to ID and control invasive plants, and remove and treat various invasive plant species from a wetland in the Deer Lake community. We may also work to weed and improve on a monarch waystation that was installed in 2015.

The worksite location is just two miles from Brevard College in Brevard, NC. Heading west on 64, turn left into the Deerlake Community on Deerlake Rd; continue straight. Once you pass Cambridge Drive, you will make your next left into the parking area. We will meet here at 10AM and walk to the project location.

Wear sturdy hiking shoes/boots, long sleeves and long pants, and bring plenty of water and lunch.
