Adopt-a-Highway Litter Sweep & Hike

Join us for a community road side litter sweep and hike on one of our favorite trails!
When: October 30, 2023, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Optional: Hike up Bearwallow Mountain, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Meet: Fruitland Baptist Bible College
We will clean up litter along our Adopt-a-Highway section on South Mills Gap Road from 9AM – 11AM. Tools, safety vests, and gloves will be provided. We will meet at the Fruitland Baptist Bible College.
Afterwards, please join us for a hike up Bearwallow Mountain (optional; 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM). This is a rewarding ~2 mile (round trip) hike with nearly 360 degree views!
Volunteers must be able to walk moderate distances across rough terrain.
What to Wear:
Work pants
long sleeves
dress for the weather
Closed toed shoes
What to Bring:
Drinking Water
Snacks / lunch
Work gloves (if you have a personal pair)
