Adopt-a-Greenway Litter Sweep

May 29 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

When: Friday, May 29th, from 1-3pm

Where to Meet: Oklawaha Greenway Balfour Access (near Berkeley Ball Park at 69 Balfour Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792)

From Asheville Hwy, turn onto Berkely Rd and take the first left onto Balfour Rd when the road splits. You will pass a cleared area and Berkeley Ball Park on the left, and a Kimberly Clark truck entrance on the right. Take the first right turn after the truck entrance and arrive at the parking lot. Look for a Conserving Carolina yard sign to guide you to the parking area!

Description: The Oklawaha Greenway provides a green recreational space for the City of Hendersonville and we want to make sure it stays clear of litter! We will clean up litter along Conserving Carolina’s two-mile Adopt-a-Greenway section. Volunteers must be able to walk moderate distances (~3-miles) and may need to bend over to pick up trash. Litter grabbers, gloves, and bags will be provided.

What to Wear:

Work pants, long sleeves; dress for the weather

Close-toed shoes

What to Bring:

Water, snacks

Work gloves (if you have a personal pair)
