Watch the Virtual Conservation Celebration!
On August 21, we held our first-ever virtual Conservation Celebration and we’re grateful to all of the outstanding photographers, filmmakers, musicians, speakers, and sponsors who collaborated to make this a truly special event. This one-hour event is packed with inspiring stories about people and nature as well as exciting updates on conservation projects. If you missed the premiere event, you can still watch the Celebration here.
What’s in the Celebration?
We invite you to share in this special event, which features:
- A keynote address by Audrey and Frank Peterman, international advocates for improving diversity in the outdoors.
- A beautiful musical performance by Jason DeChristofaro
- Updates from our executive director, Kieran Roe
- Previews of three new Conserving Carolina trails coming soon
- Exciting news about new land added to DuPont State Recreational Forest
- A tour of an ambitious habitat restoration on the French Broad River
- Stories from our volunteers, members, and Summer of Service members.
Whether virtual or in person, the Conservation Celebration is our most important fundraiser of the year. Please consider making a gift to protect land and water here in Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina.
Thank You for Your Support!
With this virtual benefit, we not only shared some of the new stories we’re excited about, we also raised funds to keep this important work going. Between the Conservation Celebration and the online auction, we raised over $72,000 to protect special places, create greenways and trails, and engage people in nature. If you would like to make a gift, please donate now.
This tremendous success was made possible thanks to so many individuals and businesses that provided direct support to the event. We want to express special appreciation to the premier sponsors, Beverly-Hanks and Hunter Subaru. We are also deeply grateful to keynote speakers Audrey and Frank Peterman, as well as Jason DeCristofaro, Randy Wetzel and Larissa Bowman, Rebecca Barnes, Will and Deni McIntyre, all of our individual sponsors, all auction item donors, and everyone who took part in the auction!
We also thank our dedicated Conservation Celebration Task Force, which includes Barbara Cliff, Chair, Carole Bartol, Ericka Berg, Melinda Holland, Deb Hopewell, Michelle Keyes, Lynn Killian, Marie King, Linda Knippa, Dibbit Lamb, Carol McCall, JoAnne Merrill, and Jenn Tutor. Last but not least, we are deeply grateful to all of the staff and volunteers who made this special event possible.
