Video: Bearwallow Field Trips

The summit of Bearwallow Mountain is protected forever by Conserving Carolina. Located in Gerton, NC, it features a hiking trail and panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in every direction. These field trips help connect students from surrounding schools to the mountain landscapes in their backyards. Each year, they hike to the summit to gather, play, and discover the amazing part of the world we live in. We hope these experiences spark a sense of wonder, a connection to the land, and a conservation ethic in upcoming generations!

In the last year, we supported field trips from Edneyville Elementary School, FernLeaf Community Charter School, and Lake Lure Classical Academy. We are grateful to these schools for their commitment to outdoor education. And a huge shout out to Will and Deni McIntyre for creating this film to capture the magic of field trips to Bearwallow Mountain–in this case, an event with FernLeaf in October of 2019.
