Ruth obtained her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from UNC Asheville. After graduation she gained employment conducting natural resource surveys and management for The National Ecological Observatory Network, The University of Georgia’s Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources, The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Division: Wildlife Resources Division, North Carolina State University, and The United States Forest Service.

She is from the area originally, and has a passion for botany, wildlife habitat, and GIS. Ruth is a certified Firefighter Type 2 From the National Wildfire Coordinating Group, a Certified Associate in Project Management from the Project Management Institute, and holds a certificate in Data Analytics from Google.

At Conserving Carolina, her role revolves around land management planning and execution, botanical survey, and GIS.
