Cassie grew up in Wingate, North Carolina and has always been driven by a lifelong, deep connection to the environment. She continued to pursue that passion and graduated from Appalachian State University in 2018 with a B.S in Biology with a concentration in ecology, evolution and the environment while also earning a GIS certification. While attending Appalachian State University, Cassie participated in multiple community based, conversation outreach programs which further solidified her career path towards land preservation and management. Cassie has a combination of over 6 years of experience in surveying stream and wetland restoration projects and environmental consulting. Cassie is passionate about the unique connection between a healthy environment and a thriving community. Her primary focus is working with local landowners to facilitate land preservation efforts, with the goal of protecting as much ecological and culturally significant land as possible for future generations. Cassie enjoys anything outdoors including hiking, camping, moderate rock climbing and gardening in her free time.
