Sarah was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina. She attended New York University, where in 2024 she received her BFA in Studio Art with a minor in Creative Writing. Through this degree, Sarah concentrated on finding the intersections between art and environmental stewardship. While in university, she spent much of her time working for and volunteering with green space and urban growing projects. Sarah moved back to Asheville in June of 2024 and served her first term through Resilience Corps NC as an Environmental Educator and Farm Hand. She is excited to continue exploring the intersections of art and ecology in the Naturalist service position at HRI this term, as well as to continue furthering her knowledge of Southern Appalachian ecosystems. When not serving, she is a resident artist at a local ceramics studio, enjoys bird watching with her dog, and cooking for her family.
