Rhyan is from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and spent her childhood camping and exploring around the Great Lakes. In 2021, she graduated from Northern Michigan University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. After teaching in the public school system for a couple of years, Rhyan made the decision to follow her dreams of helping the environment and making the world a better place for future generations. She returned to NMU for a second bachelor’s degree, with this degree being in environmental science. During this time, Rhyan worked with the US Forest Service as a biological science technician. While working with Hiawatha National Forest, Rhyan developed a solid foundation of environmental knowledge and skills. Now, Rhyan is excited to combine her passions and interests to educate participants about science topics and to foster curiosity for the outdoors.
