Mica grew up near Atlanta, GA and spent time climbing trees and chasing butterflies. With an interest in how things work at all levels, Mica pursued a BS in International Affairs at Georgia Tech and then a Master of Interdisciplinary Studies in Urban Studies at Georgia State University. After a fully remote Presidential Management Fellowship at CDC, Mica realized working in person and outside was more fulfilling and reconnected with nature while working at a native plant nursery. Mica is grateful to Project Conserve for the opportunity to explore a career pivot into conservation and is excited to connect students with the diverse nature and history of the Smokies.
