Mica grew up near Atlanta, GA and spent time climbing trees and chasing butterflies. With an interest in how things work at all levels, Mica pursued a BS in International Affairs at Georgia Tech and then a Master of Interdisciplinary Studies in Urban Studies at Georgia State University. After a fully remote Presidential Management Fellowship at CDC, Mica realized working in person and outside was more fulfilling and reconnected with nature while working at a native plant nursery.

Thanks to Project Conserve, Mica was able to pivot into the environmental field and is excited to grow as an educator in a second term with Project Conserve at Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Mica loves learning new things about the diverse nature and history of the Smokies and sharing that passion and knowledge with local students.
