Libby grew up in Virginia where despite growing up in the crowded suburbs of Washington D.C., they found little pockets of nature all around them through which they cultivated a deep love of the outdoors and passion for enjoying and protecting the beautiful natural world around us. They graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Environmental Horticulture, through which they found a deep passion for native plants and ecologically beneficial landscaping. Some past work experience includes leading summer camps and field trips focused on high adventure, team building, and environmental education, working as an interpreter at the National Aquarium, working as a ski photographer in Colorado, and working at various farms and nurseries. In their spare time, they enjoy nature walks, gardening, climbing, camping, and pottery. They are very excited to be returning for their second ACPC term serving at the NC Arboretum where they are looking forward to passing a love and appreciation for the natural world on to the next generation and inspiring a sense of stewardship, awe, and excitement about nature in the kids they work with.
