Libby grew up in Virginia where despite growing up in the crowded suburbs of Washington D.C., she found little pockets of nature all around her. She cultivated a deep love of the outdoors and a passion for enjoying and protecting the natural world around us. She graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Environmental Horticulture. Her past experiences include leading summer camps and field trips focused on high adventure, team building, and environmental education. She worked as an interpreter at the National Aquarium, a ski photographer in Colorado, and at various farms and nurseries. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, camping, gardening, climbing, photography, and reading. She is excited to be serving at the NC Arboretum where she hopes to inspire a sense of awe, joy, and excitement about nature in the kids she works with. She is looking forward to passing a love and appreciation for the natural world on to the next generation.
