From retail management and environmental justice advocacy to raptor rehabilitation and jaguar-tracking in the Amazon rainforest, Katie’s professional and academic careers have pulled her down a series of seemingly unrelated paths. However, each of these experiences has fostered Katie’s passion for community collaboration and environmental education. It is her mission to lead the conservation field forward by bridging human rights with the protection of wildlife and the environment. In September of 2023, Katie completed her M.S. in Conservation Medicine at Tufts University in Massachusetts. She has recently returned to her home state of North Carolina with her cat, Mitzi. She is excited to use her experiences to promote conservation and sustainability through the Climate Action Corps.
