Emma grew up in Los Gatos, California near the Santa Cruz mountains. Her love for the outdoors was fostered by weekly trips to nature preserves, tide pools, and hiking trails! She has always had a passion for environmental conservation. From starting a composting program at her elementary school to volunteering with Global Leadership Adventures and restoring sea turtle nesting grounds in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. In 2023, she graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a B.S. in Business Administration and a concentration in Entrepreneurship. This is her first time serving as an AmeriCorps member and she couldn’t be more excited! She hopes to pursue a career that makes a positive difference working alongside people who share the same passion for environmental stewardship and sustainability. She can’t think of a better start than by serving as the Trails Associate for Conserving Carolina. In her free time, she loves scuba diving, horseback riding, yoga, traveling, cooking, and hiking.
