Anala St. Germain was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina. They spent much of their childhood exploring the rivers and mountains of Western North Carolina. Anala developed a deep love for the region’s plants, animals, and natural spaces. That connection to the land led them to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Education at Warren Wilson College.

Beginning her college experience during a global pandemic and concluding it amid the impacts of Hurricane Helene, Anala became increasingly driven to engage in community-based environmental work. This commitment brought her to RiverLink through the AmeriCorps program, where she now serves as the Out-of-School Coordinator, educating local youth about the French Broad River watershed and how we can protect it for future generations.
