Fall Lady Slipper Winner: Liz Dicey
Liz Dicey
Fall Lady Slipper Winner
Congratulations to Liz Dicey for being the recipient of the Fall Lady Slipper Award! This award is given out four times a year to outstanding volunteers and Liz has shown immense dedication to Conserving Carolina over the past six years. When it comes to volunteering, Liz is a jack of all trades. She serves on the Board, helps with events, educational activities, development, installing pollinator gardens, and removing non-native invasive plants.
Ever since the very first Earth Day in 1970, Liz has had an interest in environmental issues. After moving to the area, she found Conserving Carolina by attending a hike led by Pam Torlina, our Southeast Stewardship Manager, and since then she has become more and more involved. She always takes on a leadership role when given the chance and has helped tremendously with Conserving Carolina events. Her most rewarding volunteer experience has been educating youth about the environment. She is motivated to encourage others to value nature as she does, and feels that the greatest environmental issue is the loss of appreciation of the magnificence of our incredible gift – this earth.
In her free time, you can find her hiking, riding horses, learning, and spending time with her grandchildren. Thank you Liz for all that you do!
