The Way of Water: Flyfishing as Contemplative Practice

June 24, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

“People fish because they are searching for something. Often it is not for a fish.” Fennel Hudson, Fly Fishing – Fennel’s Journal – No. 5

Join us as we approach fly fishing as a contemplative practice and a way to experience renewal beyond just “getting on the water.” Western North Carolina has some of the best fly fishing on the east coast. Participants will have opportunities to fish on a private section of the Broad River. All levels of skill are welcome, but gear, and instruction is not provided. You must bring your own gear (rod, reel, North Carolina fishing license, flies, etc.). Participants must know how to fly fish. Led by Tanner Pickett.

To keep everyone safe, this event will be limited to 12 participants. Registration is required. For questions, contact drmattie.decker@gmail.com or call: 828-333-3508

Donations are not required and the amount of your gift is entirely up to you. A donation of $30 is suggested for forest bathing walks, for those who are able. Donations of $35 or more will include Conserving Carolina membership benefits.
