Tails and Trails

April 18, 2022 @ 12:00 am - April 24, 2022 @ 12:00 am

Calling all animal and nature lovers! Conserving Carolina and Blue Ridge Humane Society are excited to announce our upcoming Tails and Trails event. This will be a week-long virtual event taking place April 18th-24th with different hiking options to choose from.

There are three hike options:

  • Bearwallow Mountain is a 2-mile roundtrip hike with a grassy meadow at its summit, featuring a panoramic view that includes the Blue Ridge Mountains, a birds-eye view of Hickory Nut Gorge, downtown Hendersonville, and the high country of South Carolina
  • The Oklawaha Greenway features a creekside path winding through wetlands, meadows, and forests to connect four different parks in our community. The trail is 3.5 miles total, but you only need to hike a segment of this path
  • The Park at Flat Rock features a 1.5-mile perimeter trail surrounding the 68-acre park filled with natural beauty and wildlife.

Complete one or all of the hikes and explore the work of Conserving Carolina in our community with your furry (or human) friend! Proceeds support Conserving Carolina’s efforts to protect the places we love and the programs of Blue Ridge Humane Society that provide new homes for pets in need, support services for local pets and their owners, and more.

To register, please visit www.blueridgehumane.org/get-involved/fundraising-events/tails/. Registration is $30 and includes an event t-shirt if registered by March 20th. There is no cut off and day-of registrations will also be accepted.
