Owls are one of the most fascinating, but rarely seen, nocturnal creatures, but what makes them so special? Chimney Rock State Park Naturalists will teach you about our native species and the unique characteristics that make them efficient predators and the important role they play in our ecosystem. You’ll even get a chance to meet a couple of special animal ambassadors and see their beauty and incredible characteristics up close! So bring the kids! This is sure to be fun for the whole family!
Emily Walker, Director of Chimney Rock Management, is a naturalist, educator, and lifetime lover of the outdoors. She has been with Chimney Rock State Park since 2005. Emily enjoys spending time hiking with her family and wrangling her menagerie of animals.
Margeau Lance, Trails/Naturalist Manager of Chimney Rock Management, has always had a love of wildlife and the outdoors, and now she gets to educate others about the environment and work with the Chimney Rock’s animal ambassadors every day. Margeau has a passion for traveling, especially anywhere tropical.
