Walnut Creek Preserve Speaker Series: For the Love of Bats!

Speaker: Tanya Poole, NC Wildlife Resources Commission Education Specialist
Join us to learn about the only flying mammal, bats! Tanya will discuss some of the bat species found in western North Carolina, where they live, and why they are beneficial to have around. She will also share the most recent research on White Nose Syndrome and the NCWRC’s bat conservation efforts.
Tanya is a Southern Mountain Education Specialist and State Project WILD Coordinator. She lives in Haywood County and has worked for WRC for 18 years. She has a BS in Elementary Education and a MS in Environmental Education.
