Landrum Library Speaker Series: From Soil to Supper – Where Your Garden and the World Grow Together

May 19 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Date: May 19, 2026

Time: 6:00 p.m.

Location: Landrum Library

Speaker: Mike Odle, gardener and land steward

Join us for a conversation about how curiosity, attention, and imagination can transform the way we see and work with our gardens. Drawing on decades of hands-on experience growing food in a wide range of soil types and conditions, Mike will share practical ways to observe and support the life of the garden right now, while also exploring how our individual gardens can contribute to the vitality of our communities and the wider world.

Part discussion and part exploration, this program encourages gardeners of all experience levels to experiment, learn from the garden itself, and discover how their unique approach can help both their garden—and their community—grow.

Mike Odle is a lifelong gardener and land steward with more than two decades of hands-on experience growing food in a wide range of soil types and conditions. He has worked with many different farmers, gardeners, and communities and enjoys helping people see the garden as a living relationship between soil, plants, and people. Mike teaches in a conversational style that invites participants to share their experiences and discover new possibilities within their own gardens.

The Landrum Library Speaker Series programs are made possible thanks to our partnership with the Spartanburg County Public Libraries.
