Fall Hiking Series – Ivestor Gap Trail, Tennent Mountain, & Black Balsam Knob Trails

Join us for the first hike of our fall hiking series!

  • Meet: at the east end of the Food Lion parking lot, 250 W. Mills St., Columbus; 8:30 a.m.
  • Hiking Distance: 3.9 miles round-trip
  • Elevation Gain: 688 feet
  • Difficulty: Moderate
  • Trail type: Loop
  • Drive time: < 1.5 hrs.

Hikers will head to the Black Balsam Mountains in Pisgah National Forest Pisgah Ranger District and follow the Art Loeb, Ivestor Gap, Tennent Mountain, and Black Balsam Knob Trails. The trail will lead hikers to the summit of Black Balsam Knob and Tennent Mountain. Hikers will enjoy ultra-scenic views and the onset of autumn.
