Guided Interpretive Hike with William Caldwell, the National Park Ranger for the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail

Join us for a presentation, Path to Liberty, at Walnut Creek Preserve at 10:30 a.m. (click here for more information about the speaker series presentation and to register) then join us for a 2.5 mile interpretive walk at the Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail at Bradley Nature Preserve led by Ranger William Caldwell, the National Park Ranger for the trail. This hike begins with an approximately 1.25-mile hike to the banks of the Green River Along the way, participants will learn the story the trail and how the trail was used in 1780. After arriving at the banks of the Green River and taking a short break, the trail loops back for another 1.25-miles, returning to the trailhead and where Ranger Caldwell can answer questions and discuss more details about the American Revolution and the Overmountain Victory Trail. Approximate time for the total walk is 2 hours.

Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. Bring plenty of water and a snack for yourself.
In case of inclement weather, please contact Pam Torlina by email at: pam@conservingcarolina.org by 12:30 p.m. on the day of the hike and/or check the Conserving Carolina website ‘calendar’ to see if the hike will take place. Please also remember to bring any medication that you may need in the event of an emergency (ie: epinephrine, nitroglycerine, insulin, etc.). Hike leaders will carry a first aid kit; however, it may not contain specific medication for your individual needs.
Before each hike, you will be asked to sign a waiver form. For your safety, do not attempt any hike beyond your ability and experience.
