Gardening for Life Celebration

Join us to celebrate nature in the Carolina Foothills and beyond. Learn how every one of us can make a difference to improve, protect and preserve healthy habitats and how it all begins right in our own yards. 

The keynote address by Doug Tallamy begins at 2:00 p.m. In addition there will be:   

  • Educational exhibits
  • Community organizations
  • Book sales 
  • Native plant displays

Highlight of the celebration: Keynote presentation by Doug Tallamy, entomologist, renowned ecologist, and author of the NY Times bestselling book Nature’s Best Hope. Tallamy advocates for changes individuals can make in their own yards and in their communities to protect and preserve native species, biodiversity and thus, our planet.

1:00-2:00 pm. exhibits / 2:00-3:30 – Tallamy presentation / 3:30-5:00 p.m. book signings and exhibits

Free ticket registration is required for the Tallamy presentation. The public is welcome to come explore exhibits.

Lead Partners include: Conserving Carolina, The Congregational Church (UCC) in Tryon, NC, Lanier Library, Weiler Woods for Wildlife.

While this event is free to the community, tickets are required to ensure everyone who attends has a seat for the Tallamy presentation.
