A Soulful Journey Workshop/Healing with Flute

November 11, 2023 @ 11:00 am - 2:30 pm

Join us for “A Soulful Journey,” a workshop creating ceremony and finding your voice with a Native flute and ritual.

  • Have you been drawn to the calming sounds of the Native American Flute?
  • Have you dreamed of playing an instrument but felt you had no musical ability?
  • Would you like to be more expressive of your feelings and emotions?
  • Would you be interested in finding more presence in each moment?
  • Would a journey of empowerment and claiming your voice interest you?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this may be calling you!

CONSTRUCTED TO BE EXPERIENTIAL – We will take a deep dive into ceremony, intention, poetry and ritual that will honor your introduction to the Native American Style Flute to make it uniquely yours! Discover the power of this ancient instrument to call upon healing within others as well as yourself. You will discover the experience of personal expression through breath…. unlocking new channels for Your Voice, to be Heard.

Aimed Towards Beginners Ideal for those who do not already play Native Flute or those with very little experience. It is designed to illustrate your own ability to improvise and express yourself…calling on feelings and emotions you may not otherwise have been able to communicate verbally. We will learn how to adjust your Flute so you can play your best, proper care and fingering for the pentatonic scale as well as basic methods of improvision.

What you will need – Comfortable clothing for the weather of the day, journal, water bottle, blanket, or yoga mat to sit on.

*Cost to participate in this workshop is $65 – cost includes a Native American Style Flute (please bring check or cash).

Frederick Conrad, who goes by “Conrad,” was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland. He enjoyed a full career in the electrical industry followed by a second career managing a hospitality venue. Working in a highly stressful environment, he found calm and peacefulness through breathwork, meditation, and Spirit based modalities. There will be some moderate walking.

In 2020, he retired and was drawn to the Asheville area. Shortly after arrival, he met an array of teachers and communities that mentored him in various programs surrounding Rites of Passage, Grief Rituals, Sound Healings and Trauma work.

While attending a Four Day Retreat in 2020, he was gifted a Native American Flute that was used by a man in South America…he called it his “Medicine”. He remembers attempting to blow into the flute for the first time at the ceremony…he got nothing!  He took the flute home and began to work with it. Slowly but surely the flute began to come alive and is now a part of my medicine and healing. Three and a half years later he has collected many flutes and loves teaching others how to play this beautiful instrument. He currently offers Native Flute to support local yoga practices, grief workshops, forest bathing, community churches as well as other callings that support healing environments and ceremony. The Native flute holds many teachings that parallel with our own life cycle. Sharing these healing qualities with others has become his passion. He is very excited to share how his journey has prepared him to present this offering to those who hear the calling, and he looks forward to meeting you in the circle.

Space is limited to 8 participants and pre-registration is required by RSVP below. RSVP will close at 12:00 pm on November 8th.
