FBR Series Part 4: EXPLORE! A Discussion about Fly Tying and Fishermen’s Impact
June 2, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
The N.C. Cooperative Extension, Transylvania County Center and Conserving Carolina are offering a series of lectures, field trips, and service days to better acquaint the public with the French Broad River, considered one of the oldest rivers in the world, and give you ways to explore and act on its behalf.
The series is divided into 5 topics – March – June; each topic will have lecture (LEARN), field trip (EXPLORE), and service day (ACT) components. Lectures will be presented by local experts, authors, and scientists. Field trips will highlight the topics introduced by the speakers, and service days will act upon those topics.
The fourth part of our series: EXPLORE A Discussion about Fly Tying and Fishermen’s Impact!
Join us on the banks of the beautiful Davidson River, a tributary of the French Broad River. Here, Davidson River Outfitters will offer us a fly fishing demonstration, and address how human users of our rivers affect fish and macroinvertebrate habitats.
Registration is required and space is limited, reserve your spot here. Please contact Kim Gundler at kim@conservingcarolina.org with any questions.
