Edneyville Library Speaker Series: Beneficial Bats

Speaker: Pam Torlina, Community Engagement Director for Conserving Carolina
This presentation will focus on our only flying mammal, bats! Participants will learn about the species of bats found in North Carolina, their unique adaptations, habitat requirements, the effects of White Nose Syndrome, as well as the benefits of having bats around and what you can do to help them.
Torlina received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of South Carolina Upstate and has been working with the Conservancy for nearly 18 years. She has more than 30 years of experience as a field biologist, naturalist, and outdoor educator. She has worked with the South Carolina State Park Service, the City of Greenville Parks and Recreation-Youth Bureau, the New York State Office of Parks and Recreation and Historic Preservation, and Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve, in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.
