Speaker: Mary Miller, AmeriCorps Project Conserve member serving as Community Engagement Associate for Conserving Carolina
Have you ever wanted to turn your organic waste into fertile soil? Join us for an all-encompassing discussion on turning your garden/food waste into black gold. In her program, Mary will discuss the benefits of composting in your backyard, how to turn food, garden waste, and leaves into nutrient rich soil, the do’s and don’t’s when composting, and the tools and methods for making good compost.
Mary is a Master Gardener with the NC Extension Service in Transylvania county. She has a MS in Environmental Sustainability and did her Capstone Project on Community Composting. She is also an AmeriCorps member serving as a Community Engagement Associate with Conserving Carolina!
