This is a great trail to explore the boulders and rock faces at the base of Rumbling Bald Mountain.

From the parking lot, start on the Rumbling Bald Loop Trail, at the trail intersection you can go either way. This is currently the only trail in this area of the Chimney Rock State Park, but more trails are planned. This well marked loop trail is wide with a mostly gravel surface. The trail traverses a beautiful forest with views of huge boulders and rock faces.

Note: this area is extremely popular with rock climbers between October and April. Parking lot is often overflowing on weekends during climbing season.
