Kathy is passionate about land conservation. She has been involved with Conserving Carolina since 2022. She serves on the Development and Stewardship committees. Prior to moving to North Carolina, Kathy had served on the board of the Palmer Land Conservancy based in Colorado. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS in Animal Science and a graduate of the Cornell Food and Ag Leadership Institute program. Kathy spent her career working for a multi-national agribusiness firm in commercial operations and strategy positions in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Kathy and her husband Karl have been residents of Brevard since 2021. They love spending most days outdoors hiking, biking and camping among the beauty of Western North Carolina.
