10th Annual Riverfest!

We had a fantastic day at Champion Park in Rosman, NC for the 10th Annual Riverfest! It was great to see so many people come out for this event, which we co-hosted with the Transylvania French Broad Stewards, the Town of Rosman, and Headwaters Outfitters.

The park was lively, offering a wide range of free, family-friendly activities. Folks explored interactive educational displays from dozens of local organizations, learning about everything from native plants and local wildlife to Leave No Trace principles. With stations set up for games, education, and fun events – it was wonderful to see so much engagement with the region’s ecology.

Live local music kept the atmosphere upbeat throughout the day. Many took advantage of the free tubing on the river, and the food trucks (The Local Harvester, Daddy D’s on Wheels, Baabal’s Ice Cream, and Southern Sips) were a big hit.

Adding to the excitement, the festival coincided with the annual Headwaters Outfitters Hellbender 20-Miler Relay Canoe Race.

A sincere thank you to all our hosts and partners – the Transylvania French Broad Stewards, the Town of Rosman, Conserving Carolina, and Headwaters Outfitters – for making this special anniversary possible. We’re also very grateful for the support from sponsors like Transylvania County Tourism Development Authority and Cedar Mountain Outpost, and our media sponsor WNCW 88.7.

The 10th Annual Upper French Broad Riverfest was a clear demonstration of our community’s shared appreciation for the French Broad River. It was a successful day, and we’re already looking forward to next year!
