Tony comes to Conserving Carolina with a dynamic mix of life and professional experiences throughout North America and beyond. When asked what he was going to be when he grew up, he would say, “I am going to get paid to be me.” Tony has served as an AmeriCorps member on Whidbey Island, WA, interned with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on the NC coast, worked in alternative education and therapeutic recreation in many locales. In addition, he worked in social and environmental justice efforts as a founding team member of Green Opportunities in Asheville, NC. Tony is passionate, he is all about working to create a world he can be proud of! Tony holds a degree in Park and Natural Resources Management from the University of Illinois, a Permaculture Professional Design Certificate, and has attended Racial Equity Institute (REI) training, among others. He is a resident of Gerton, NC, along with his partner Julia and sons Noah and Ethan. Tony is at home with his family in Western North Carolina.
