Olivia developed a love and appreciation for the outdoors at an early age growing up in Asheville, playing in the wonderful natural areas Western North Carolina has to offer. She decided to turn that passion into a career during college at Appalachian State University where she majored in Sustainable Development with a focus in Environmental Studies. After graduating, she found AmeriCorps Project Conserve and served two years as the Community Engagement Associate at Conserving Carolina. Afterwards she worked at various environmental nonprofits in North Carolina and eventually found her way back to Conserving Carolina to help with the AmeriCorps Project Conserve program. In her free time you can find her mountain biking, adventuring with her two dogs, swimming in the rivers and streams, paddle boarding, white water kayaking, seeing live music, spending time in her garden, and attending Western Carolina University where she is working on a Masters in Public Affairs.
