Growing up, Sarah formed her love of the natural world through her family’s frequent travels from their home in metro Atlanta to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Bryson City, North Carolina, where her family resides today. Sarah cultivated her love of the natural world during her time at Appalachian State University, located in the mountains of Boone, North Carolina. While at Appalachian State, Sarah majored in Sustainable Development with a concentration in Environmental Studies. She also studied Nonprofit Management and Geographic Information Systems. This is Sarah’s second AmeriCorps term serving in Project Conserve. Sarah is excited to continue serving in Project Conserve working with the communities that helped her form an environmental ethic at a young age. Sarah’s hobbies include running, hiking, photography, and crafting when she gets a spark of creativity.
