Sam was born and raised in Central Florida. She graduated from Rollins College with a B.A. in Biology and a minor in Studio Art. After graduating, she worked in the theme park industry promoting conservation by presenting educational talks about marine animals and local rescue programs. Simultaneously, she worked at a local barn and soon decided to continue her career in animal husbandry as an equine counselor at a Girl Scouts camp south of Atlanta, Georgia. There, she discovered a strong passion for teaching kids and cultivating their care and respect for animals. After continuing husbandry work within the equine industry, she decided to pursue her love of working with kids and animals in an education-based role. She is thrilled to be serving with Champions for Wildlife, combining her passions for art, animals, environmental education, and conservation. She can’t wait to help further their mission of inspiring the next generation to be champions for wildlife.
