Livia grew up in Northern California where she developed an early and deep appreciation for the natural world and her fellow species. ?Her love of nature flourished in the New Orleans swamps where she attended Tulane University and obtained a degree in neuroscience. Since college, Livia has pursued jobs that allow her to explore human nature in relation to its impact on the natural world. Most recently, Livia worked as a researcher at the Women’s Earth and Climate Action Network (WECAN), where she learned more about the intersection between environmental degradation, gender inequality, and racism. She enjoys place-based work and believes in the power of local community efforts to find solutions to address our current climate and environmental crisis, so she is very excited to work at the local nonprofit, Asheville GreenWorks!
Livia enjoys spending time in nature, moving, music, and making homemade alternative milks!
