From Darlington, MD, Josie grew up exploring the Chesapeake Bay watershed and other coastal environments. In 2022, she graduated from Fordham University with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Humanitarian Studies and a minor in Political Science. As a student, Josie worked for Delaware State Parks as an Environmental Stewardship intern and at a New York-based nonprofit focused on creating urban green spaces. Through these experiences, she gained a passion for land protection, habitat restoration, and connecting folks across all backgrounds to outdoor spaces. These interests culminated in her research thesis, focused on the intersection of colonialism and public lands in the United States. After college, she spent time working in the outdoor industry and is excited to return to the conservation sector, incorporating her diverse interests and experience into land stewardship. In her free time, Josie enjoys climbing, paddling, sewing, and seeing live music.
