I am a recent December graduate from Appalachian State University. I majored in Biology with a concentration in Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Science. During my time at App, I was able to support graduate student research by assisting with fieldwork for a freshwater ecology thesis in the High Country. I also had the opportunity to perform plant DNA extractions in a conservation genetics lab. In my Ecotoxicology course, I gained valuable experience accessing the accumulation of heavy metals in fish populations on the Broad River in NC. I am starting graduate school at App State to continue my work on the Broad River. I am thrilled for the opportunity to use my lab skills and environmental knowledge to connect and serve Western North Carolina. I am excited to learn new ways to adapt technology to an ever-changing environment- both outdoors and indoors.
