Hanna grew up in Chapel Hill, NC, where she spent a lot of time playing in the woods, digging in the dirt, and finding her love for the natural world. Hanna earned her BA in Environmental Biology and Spanish at Washington University in St. Louis. During her time in Missouri, Hanna researched disease ecology (ask her about ticks and mosquitoes!), worked on invasive species management in the Ozark border region, and gained interest in land conservation and the relationship between people and their environment. Hanna joined Project Conserve for the 2019-20 term and is thrilled to be back for a second term on SAHC’s stewardship team, learning more about land protection in the Southern Appalachian region. In her free time, Hanna loves hiking, running, cooking, and spending time with her puppy, Nora.
