Allison was born and raised in Downingtown, PA, a suburban town west of Philadelphia. Despite being close to such a busy city, she was raised in a household with a motto inspired by the John Muir quote, “Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt”. She attended Messiah University in Central PA where she received her B.S. in Biology with an Ecological concentration in Spring 2021. During her time at Messiah, she conducted a sustainable agriculture research project with aquaponics systems. Most recently, she worked as a Nature Instructor at Summerside Camps in Northern Philadelphia, spending this past summer teaching about nature and leading hikes along the Wissahickon Valley. She aspires to attend graduate school and become a science journalist focusing on conservation issues. Allison enjoys hiking, writing, traveling, and being a plant mom.
