Leah Cooper, the Sustainability Coordinator at Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., will present “Sustainability at Sierra Nevada” at the Conserving Carolina Speaker Series at Transylvania County Library. She will discuss the brewery’s commitment to the environment on March 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Rogow Room.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Company has been nationally recognized as a craft beer pioneer and an industry leader in sustainability. Leah will discuss Sierra Nevada’s approach to sustainability, key initiatives at their Mills River facility, and how they have integrated sustainability into their company culture.

Leah Cooper has been the Sustainability Coordinator for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. since March of 2015. She is responsible for educating employees on environmental issues and programs, collaborating with local community and industry partners on sustainability initiatives, and maintaining and developing policies and projects related to renewable energy and energy efficiency, zero waste, water conservation, and reuse.
