Speaker Series: The American Black Bear

Speaker: Naturalist, Tim Lee

 

Join us as we discover the world of North America’s most numerous and widely spread bear species, the American Black Bear. Naturalist Tim Lee will discuss the natural history of Black Bears, including their range, behavior, and the adaptations that help the American Black Bear survive in its forest habitat. Children and adults are welcome and there is no charge for the event.

Tim is native South Carolinian and he has studied and taught as a naturalist and biologist throughout the southeast for more than 29 years. For the past 19 years he has been the Interpretive Ranger and Naturalist for South Carolina State Park Service’s Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area (Jones Gap and Caesar’s Head SPs) where he conducts research and provides educational programs for children and adults. He is a coordinator and instructor for the South Carolina Master Naturalist Program and is an Educational Leadership Partner for the South Carolina Aquarium. Tim is member of the National Association of Interpreters and an honorary SC Statewide Master Naturalist and an honorary member of the Upstate Master Naturalist Association.
