Mountain Bog Workday
April 16, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join us in partnership with Friends of Plant Conservation to help maintain and learn more about this rare Southern Appalachian bog habitat which is home to several rare plant species. Volunteers will assist in rhododendron cutting and removal to restore the bog from the succession of woody plant species.
Ability to bend down and walk short distances is necessary for the day, but plant ID will be taught. Wear closed-toe waterproof shoes, long pants, and bring lunch and plenty of water. Tools, gloves, extra snacks, and water will be provided.
Meet at the Conserving Carolina Hendersonville office at 9:15AM to carpool or meet at the Cedar Mountain Community Center (10635 Greenville Highway, Cedar Mountain) at 9:45AM.
To RSVP or for more information email volunteer@conservingcarolina.org or call Olivia at 828-697-5777 ext. 211
