Member’s Hike: Johnson Branch
May 11, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 2:00 pm
Come see a beautiful property that YOU helped conserve! Join us on a member’s hike to Johnson Branch.
Located in Transylvania County on the slopes of Becky Mountain, Johnson Branch was protected forever in 2009 by the Jones family. A privately owned property, the slopes of the 61-acre easement are home to a half-mile of the Johnson Branch tributary of the French Broad, multiple seepage bogs, a dozen waterfalls and significant natural heritage communities.
Bursting with wildflowers and waterfalls, this hike is on land not open to the public, so this is a rare opportunity to see a beautiful piece of land, conserved forever and photograph its brilliant waterfalls.
WHEN: Saturday, May 11th – Tour 1 at 8:00 am and Tour 2 at 11:30 am
