Kudzu & Other Invasive Plants

January 20, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Join Conserving Carolina and Walnut Creek Preserve on Saturday, January 20th as John Vining presents, “Kudzu and Other Out Of Control Invasive Plants.” This is a free program, open to the public.

The program will provide an overview of the worst invasive plants that plague the foothills of both Carolinas. In addition to showing the different plants, the presentation will share control methods of the various exotic plants.

John Vining has a B.S. in Plant Sciences (horticulture) from Clemson University. He is retired from a 32-year career with NC State University as Polk County’s Extension Director overseeing the horticulture aspects of the local program. He is a big fan of native plants and shares the concern that many exotic or non-native plants have locally gotten out of control.

Contact Conserving Carolina’s Southeast (Polk County) office at 828-859-5060 to register for the workshop or for more information, or contact Pam Torlina at [email protected].
