Guided Nature Walk at Walnut Creek Preserve – Rescheduled

June 14, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Nature Walks at Walnut Creek Preserve

Join Conserving Carolina for an interpretive nature walk at Walnut Creek Preserve. Naturalist, Armin Weise, will lead participants on an approximately 3-mile, moderately difficult walk through the preserve.

Participants will explore upland forests, a pine plantation, and a cove forest in the 2,100 acre Preserve to learn about their unique ecosystems and how to identify wildflowers, trees, and fungi. In order to make this an enjoyable and educational experience for participants, space is limited to 15 and pre-registration is required.

Armin Weise has explored and experienced ecosystems up and down the east coast through both work and travel. While earning a degree in Environmental Studies from Warren Wilson College, he concentrated on studying sustainable forestry and plant fungal interactions. Throughout his recent work, Armin has applied himself in practicing positive impact forestry as well as conserving and improving the health of our invaluable Appalachian ecosystems. While not at work in the woods, you will still find Armin exploring forests in search for rare plants, fungi, and the beauty of different ecosystems.

RSVP required by email!

Space is limited. For more information or to RSVP email pam@conservingcarolina.org. More information and details will follow after registration.
