Bracken Mountain Trails Workday
June 1 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Friends of Brevard Trails will have its first Bracken Mountain Preserve trail building workday, together with Todd Branham, Bracken’s contracted trail builder. Volunteers will assist in the construction of a new addition, the Ridge Trail, by raking, smoothing, tamping, trimming sight lines, etc. This new trail will add 1.5 miles to Bracken’s already awesome trail system, creating a stacked-loop system of trails allowing riders and hikers to opportunity to see more of Brevard’s lovely preserve.
Please carpool to the Bracken trailhead as parking is limited. Volunteers will need to hike or ride to the top of Mackey Ridge where work will begin. Be prepared to get dirty, and have fun doing it.
Volunteers will hike about one moderate mile. Wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and bring water, snacks, and lunch. Tools, gloves, and extra water will be provided.
